Vigilant residents have finally arrested notorious goat thieves terrorizing their community and stealing their domestic animals.
Three goat thieves have been caught after they stole two goats from a restaurant owner in Amarata, a suburb of Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
It was gathered that when they were confronted by the residents, one of the suspects, holding a Bible in hand, claimed they were Christians returning from a church service, but they could not explain how they came about the goats in their possession.
A 60-year-old, a landlord in Ondo State, and his two sons were arrested by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), in the state for stealing 13 goats from around the community where they live.
Kayode Balogun, the state Public Relations Officer, said the suspects were arrested in Oshinle Quarters, Akure, at about 530 am with the stolen animals.
