Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto State has approved the appointment of Aliyu Bala Sokoto as the new Managing Director of Sokoto Investment Company.
A statement issued by the Governor’s spokesman, Malam Imam Imam, said the appointment took effect on August 18, 2016.
Until his appointment, the new MD served as the Business Development Manager in First Bank of Nigeria Plc.
Sokoto was born in November 1975 and attended Usmanu Danfodio University, Sokoto, where he graduated with Bsc in Management Studies in 1999.
Sokoto State Governor, Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal, yesterday approved N20 million as grants to be distributed to selected Islamic Schools’ Proprietors, clerics and Islamic organisations in the state.
The Executive Secretary of the State Arabic and Islamic Education Board, Alhaji Ahmad Baba-Altine, made this known during a chat with newsmen in Sokoto at the weekend.
He said the grants would assist the beneficiaries in running their schools and organisations.

This is contained in a statement signed by the governor’s spokesman, Imam Imam, and issued to newsmen in Sokoto on Friday.
The chief executives are as follows: Shehu Usman Malami, Director-General, Debt Management Office, Dr Ibrahim Usman, Director-General, Waziri Junaidu, History and Culture Bureau and Shehu Adamu, Director-General, State Contributory Health Agency.

Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State, on Tuesday named Buhari Kware, as the new Head of Service (HoS).
A statement issued in Sokoto on Tuesday by the governor’s spokesman, Imam Imam, said the appointment followed the retirement of Bature Shinkafi.
The governor also approved the appointment of three new permanent secretaries.
The appointment followed the recent retirement of some permanent secretaries from service.
