A posthumous thanksgiving service to mark the birthday of the matriarch of the Awolowo Dynasty, Chief (Mrs) HID Awolowo, will hold tomorrow, November 25, with a Holy Communion service which will be held at Efunyela hall in Ikenne Remo, Ogun State home of the Awolowos, at 9.00 a.m.
HID Awolowo, who joined the saints-triumphant on September 19, 2015, about 68 days to his Centenary birthday, was born in Ikenne Remo on November 25, 1915.

Report reaching ADELOVE stated that the Ogun government has directed that all markets and public schools in the Remo Zone of the state be closed on Wednesday for the burial of late Chief HID Awolowo.
This is contained in a release signed in Abeokuta on Monday by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mr Taiwo Adeoluwa.

The burial rights of late HID Awolowo began today in Oyo State. The commendation service was held at the Methodist Church, Agbeni, Ibadan.

Daughter of the late Mrs H.I.D Awolowo, Reverend Mrs. Tola Oyediran has revealed that her late mother will be buried in a golden casket and with a damask cloth which the departed had purchased for that purpose 36 years ago.
