    FG to provide 490,000 jobs for Nigerians through ICT, says Ngige

    Senator Chris Ngige, the Minister of Labour and Employment. has announced that the Federal Government will create about 490,000 jobs through its recently launched Smart Farmers ICT platform.

    He made the remark at the 30th Lagos International Trade Fair, with the theme: ”Positioning the Nigerian Economy for Diversification and Sustainable Growth,” over the weekend.

    Urging Nigerians to embrace positive change towards job creation in a bid to turn around Nigeria’s fortunes, Ngige stated that the government is determined to fight unemployment.

    Investment in ICT sector over $35bn – NCC

    The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) on Monday said that over $35 billion had been invested in the nation’s telecommunications industry from Foreign Direct Investments.

    The Executive Vice Chairman of the commission, Prof. Umar Danbatta, made this known in Lagos during a stakeholders’ forum for International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Telecom World 2016.

    Fire destroys Ajimobi’s wife ICT centre

    Valuables worth millions of naira were destroyed by fire at the Florence Ajimobi ICT Centre in Ibadan. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the centre is the brain child of the wife of the Oyo State governor, Mrs Florence Ajimobi, and was inaugurated in December, 2011.
