    Weeds overrun N1.2bn properties seized from ex-COAS Ihejirika

    Weeds have overrun some of the property allegedly belonging to a former Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen Azubuike Ihejirika (retd.), which were seized by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

    Sources within the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission said that the properties, including a hotel, chalet, duplex, mansion and a parcel of land, all located within an estate off Jabi-Airport Road in Abuja, were worth about N1.2bn.

    President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday approved the investigation of 54 individuals over their alleged involvement in the arms procurement scandal.

    DSS arrests former Chief of Army Staff, Ihejirika

    The Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested a former Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General Azubuike Ihejirika (rtd).

    Ihejirika was arrested on Tuesday night at his Maitama, Abuja residence.

    It was gathered that the former COAS is being investigated over his alleged sponsorship of the Independent People of Biafra (IPOB) agitators.
