A Nigerian man and his Thai wife have landed in trouble after they were arrested for allegedly swindling marriage-seeking Thai women out of a total of 20 million baht (N180) via an internet romance scam.
According to reports, the duo were caught by the Crime Suppression Division Deputy Commander while parading them yesterday, September 15th. The Nigerian man is identified as 33-year-old Chinaka Chinedu and his wife, Uraporn Kesawatana, 34, of Phetkasem 77 Road in Nong Khaem district, Bangkok.

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission have arrested a suspected impersonator posing as the former Executive Chairman of the Commission, Ibrahim Lamorde.
The suspect, Promise Tochi Nwalozie, was arrested in Port Harcourt, Rivers State in a sting operation that yielded the arrest of six other internet fraudsters.
One of the fraudsters, Onukagba Uche Prosper, is a youth corps member serving in the Tai Local Government Area of Rivers State.

A 21-year-old student, Obiechina Chikeluba, has been arrested by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, for allegedly defrauding a Briton of N20 million in an internet romance scam.
Chikeluba, a student of Federal Science and Technical College, Yaba, Lagos, was said to have met his victim, Kieran Oakes, on Facebook.
It was also gathered that the suspect, assuming the profile of an American, Lisa Jackson, entered into a relationship with Oakes, with the pair agreeing to get married.

Emeofa, a Port Harcourt Resident in Rivers State, suspected internet fraudster, has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, yesterday, for allegedly defrauding a Swedish national of $100,000 in an internet romance scam.
The victim, Hengameh Misepasi, filed a petition through the Nigerian Embassy in Stockholm, Sweden and explained how they met online in February 2013.
