    President Hassan Rouhani of Iran has called the recent decision by the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) to cut oil output a “success” for the Islamic republic, the oil cartel and the global market at large.

    Speaking on Thursday, Mr. Rouhani said OPEC’s decision on Wednesday in reducing the production was a “positive” move.

    Extending U.S. sanctions on Iran for 10 years would breach Iranian nuclear agreement, Iran Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei said on Wednesday, warning that Tehran would retaliate if the sanctions are approved.

    The U.S. House of Representatives re-authorized last week the Iran Sanctions Act, or ISA, for 10 years.
