    James Ibori’s lawyer awarded £20,000 for unlawful detention

    Bhadresh Gohil, a lawyer convicted of money laundering and linked to James Ibori, a former governor of Delta state, has received £20,000 from the crown prosecution service after claims that he was deprived of his rights.

    According to BBC, Gohil had served half his sentence for fraud and money laundering but Sasha Wass, the prosecution lawyer, applied for the bail to be revoked.

    According to reports, the Southwark Crown Court in London has ruled to suspend the start of the confiscation hearing against a former Delta State Governor, Chief James Ibori.

    According to reports, the Federal Government has said that it is ready to receive Nigerians serving various jail terms in different prisons across the world.

    This was contained in a statement signed by Mr Francis Enobore, the Spokesperson of the Nigerian Prisons Service (NPS).
