    NJC clears Justice Abang of any wrongdoing in Abia, PDP judgements

    According to reports, the National Judicial Council has cleared Justice Okon Abang of any wrongdoing in the June 27 judgement against the Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu.

    The NJC also said Mr. Abang did no wrong in his June 29 ruling where he endorsed a faction of the Peoples Democratic Party, led by former Borno State Governor, Ali Sheriff, as authentic.

    Conflicting judgements on PDP convention a disgrace – Agbakoba

    A Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Chief Olisa Agbakoba, has described the conflicting judgements given by the courts on the National Convention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as a disgrace to the judiciary.

    Two Federal High Courts – one in Abuja and the other in Port Harcourt – stuck to their conflicting rulings on the convention.

    Justice Ibrahim Watila of the Port Harcourt court gave the greenlight for the convention, but his Abuja counterpart, Justice Okon Abang stopped the convention.
