Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Fatai Owoseni, has raised the alarm of the new method adopted by criminals to ferry arms and ammunition.
Owoseni called on transporters to be security conscious and conduct checks on travellers’ luggage properly before beginning their journey.
The police boss spoke yesterday at the launch of Eminent Persons Forum, Idimu Police Division chapter and the inauguration of a multipurpose hall built by the residents of the community.

A reversal of roles in which the law is enforced against the chief law enforcer may be witnessed in Lagos State on August 11, 2016 as a Magistrates Court is set to determine an application for the committal to prison of a sitting Commissioner of Police for alleged contempt.
The Magistrate, M.O. Olajuwon, has summoned the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, to appear before her on that day to show cause why he should not be committed to prison.
Lagos State residents have been told to avoid patronizing street hawkers.
Commissioner of Police in the State, Fatai Owoseni, gave the warning when he spoke with Journalists after a meeting with Governor Akinwunmi Ambode and security chiefs yesterday.
Owoseni said the decision to enforce the ban on street trading was a measure to monitor the activities of such criminals, adding that there have been instances where criminals hide among street traders to steal from innocent citizens.
