    Former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Wednesday, pledged that he would continue to support everything that would be in the best interest of Nigeria and Liberia.

    Obasanjo gave assurance while hosting vice President, Mr Joseph Boakai, on Wednesday at his hiltop residence in Abeokuta, Ogun state capital .

    Ebola Outbreak: Liberia Confirms 6th Case

    A Liberian woman has died of Ebola Virus Disease in a hospital in Monrovia shortly after being admitted hospital authorities said on Tuesday.

    She becomes the sixth confirmed case of the virus since it resurfaced last month almost two months after the World Health Organisation declared Liberia Ebola-free.

    The victim from Montserrado County, which contains Monrovia, is thought to be linked to the other five cases from neighboring Margibi County, where the disease reemerged.

    WHO declares Liberia Ebola free

    Report revealed that The World Health Organisation on Saturday declared Liberia free of Ebola after no new cases were reported for 42 days, twice the virus’ incubation period. The last Ebola patient in Liberia died on March 27, WHO said in a statement. Some 11,020 people were killed in the outbreak, which started in Guinea in December 2013 as more than 26,000 were infected.

    It was gathered that the World Health Organization, WHO, will, tomorrow, declare Liberia free of the Ebola virus, even as the global health body said total number of deaths from the Ebola epidemic has exceeded 11,000 with more than 26,500 people being infected.
