According to reports, the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, yesterday said it had arrested over 2,600 motorists for not installing the speed limiting device in their vehicles. Commander of Rivers State Sector Command, Andrew Kumakpayi, spoke in Port Harcourt during a health programme organized for tanker drivers in conjunction with Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, and Medical Women’s Association of Nigerian, MWAN.
Kumapayi expressed happiness that the compliance level of vehicle owners in the state to the speed limiting device was encouraging.
It was gathered that the Corps Marshall of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mr. Boboye Oyeyemi, has said 2800 commercial vehicles were issued tickets for the speed limiting device at the commencement of the speed limiting device across the country.
In a statement, which was made available to the media on Sunday in Abuja, the agency said the FRSC boss expressed satisfaction with the advisory enforcement of the device aimed at reducing road accident.

Commercial motorists who are yet to install the speed limiting device in their vehicles may have to do now as the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) is set to crack down on defaulters.
This follows the suspension of the embargo on the enforcement of the device in commercial vehicles and trucks by the National Assembly.
