    Reps threaten to issue warrant against NNPC, Malabu Oil over OPL 245

    According to reports, the House of Representatives Ad-hoc Committee investigating the alleged malpractices and breach of due process in the award of OPL 245 has accused the NNPC and Malabu Oil of plots to frustrate its investigation.

    The committee also expressed its displeasure over the conduct of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC), for delaying the committee’s assignment.

    Ex-minister set for grilling over $1.092b Malabu Oil deal cash

    Former Petroleum Resources Minister Dan Etete is set to visit the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to answer questions on the controversial Malabu Oil Block (OPL 245).

    The EFCC is searching for $1,092,040 billion paid by Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Nigeria Limited (SNEPCO) and Nigeria Agip Exploration Limited (NAE) into an escrow account.

    The anti-graft agency has raised a team to grill the ex-minister and all those implicated in the deal.

    FG arraigns businessman over Malabu oil deal scam

    A businessman, Mr. Aliyu Abubakar, who was named as a suspect in the investigation into an alleged fraud in the allocation of Oil Prospecting License (OPL) 245, has been charged with charges of criminal trespass into another person’s property in Aso Drive, Abuja.

    The Office of the Attorney General of the Federation filed two counts of criminal trespass and mischief against the businessman on July one.
