    Nigerian troops in massive manhunt for Niger Delta militants

    Nigerian troops have been massively deployed in the creeks of the Niger Delta to hunt down militants disturbing the peace of the region and bombing oil installations despite ongoing dialogue.

    It was gathered that the deployment was by the Joint Task Force (JTF), Operation Delta Safe (ODS), following concerns that militants were still attacking oil pipelines despite peace talks between stakeholders of the region and the federal government.

    Six out of the 15 prison inmates that escaped during the jailbreak at Nsukka Prisons, Tuesday, have been re-arrested, while the manhunt is on to capture the rest.

    Enugu State Controller of Prisons, Mr. Isaiah Amariri, disclosed this while speaking to journalists Thursday on the unfortunate incident that shook the university town of Nsukka Tuesday.

    The police in Enugu State on Wednesday intensified its manhunt for a herbalist said to be treating wounded robbery suspects in his clinic at Orba community in Udenu Local Government Area of the state.
