    Maritime University bills scale second reading

    Two bills establishing the Maritime University at Okerenkoko in Warri South local government area of Delta State and another in Oron in Akwa Ibom state scaled Second Reading at the Senate today.

    However, fears over funding threaten to mar the passage of the bills, given that proposals for the two were being canvassed simultaneously by Senators from the affected states.

    Don’t relocate Maritime University – Group begs Buhari

    A group, Oil Producing Area Association of Nige­ria, (OPAAN), has expressed concern over what it called a plot to relocate the Maritime University from Okerenkoko to Ibusa.

    It cautioned that such action could incite the oil communities and the Niger Delta as a region against President Muhammadu Buhari and his ad­ministration.
