According to reports, the Movement for the Emancipation of Niger Delta, MEND, has berated some of the Niger Delta Leaders who met with President Muhammadu Buhari over the persistent crises in the oil rich region.
MEND described most of the leaders as “vultures, dead wood and corrupt politicians.”
It explained that the failure of the leaders to spell out the agreement earlier reached with the Federal Government when they met with the President was irresponsible, hence the latest attack on oil facilities.
It was gathered that the Supreme Niger Delta Youth Council WorldWide, SNDYCW, has disowned the Niger Delta Avengers and the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta, MEND, describing their activities as “pure armed robbery.”
The President General of the Council, Prince Michael Newgent Eaton, stated this when the council met with the leadership of the Arewa Consultative Forum, ACF, in Kaduna on Thursday.

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), led by detained Nnamdi Kanu, yesterday disowned the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) and the Niger Delta Avengers (NDA), both of which have been linking their own agitations to Kanu’s incarceration.
