    IGP, Ibrahim Idris fires 14 policemen over misconduct

    According to reports, the Nigeria Police Force on Tuesday announced the dismissal of 14 policemen for various levels of misconduct.

    A statement by DCP Don Awunah, Force Public Relations Officer, Force Headquarters, Abuja listed the offences as Aiding and abetting serious crimes, Conspiracy with militants and Disappearance of explosives.

    Awunah said that the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris, on assumption of duty, instituted strict measures to ensure that the conduct of officers conformed to international best practices and norms.

    According to reports, the National Judicial Council (NJC) Monday inaugurated a 10-man Judicial Ethics Committee with a mandate to review the code of conduct for judicial officers in the country.

    Ebonyi varsity lecturer, principals disciplined over sex abuse, misconduct

    A senior lecturer with Ebonyi State University was suspended over alleged involvement in sexual harassment of students.

    The Commissioner for Education Professor John Eke, addressing journalists, also disclosed that four principals of secondary schools were demoted for various misconducts ranging from absenteeism and other acts inconsistent with their mandate.

    UNILAG expels 125 students, suspends 73 for misconduct

    It was gathered that the University of Lagos has expelled 125 students and suspended 73 students for acts related to academic misconduct and forgery of results.

     

    The names of the affected students were published on the university’s website, UNILAG .edu.ng. Those suspended had penalties ranging from two to four semesters.

    Lagos State police command has arrested 12 policemen from different places in the metropolis for one case of misconduct or the other.

    The management of the Lagos State University, LASU, has suspended 25 students who engaged in examination malpractices during the 2015/2016 academic session.

    The University’s Senate on the recommendation of the Committee of Provost, Deans and Directors on Examination Misconduct, ratified the suspension of the 25 students.
