    Senator urges NUC to monitor new varsities

    According to reports, the National Universities Commission (NUC), has been urged to monitor the eight new universities recently approved by the Federal Government to ensure they conformed with standards.

    Sen. Jibrin Barau (APC-Kano), Chairman, Senate Committee on Tertiary Institutions and TetFund, made the call during interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), in Abuja on Sunday.

    Nigeria begins e-passenger system to monitor foreigners movement

    Nigeria has began the use of Electronic Passenger Registration‎ System (e-PARS) to monitor the movement of foreigners for security reasons.

    The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) introduced the system to check activities of illegal immigrants and terrorists. NIS Public Relations Officer Ekpedeme King said in Abuja that it was in line with international best practices and a common fight against terrorism.
