    Lagos State cancels monthly environmental sanitation exercise, due to present economic realities

    According to reports, the Lagos State Government has cancelled the monthly environmental sanitation exercise held every last Saturday of the month.

    The cancellation followed a resolution arrived at in Wednesday’s Executive Council meeting which approved the need for a review of the environmental laws and procedures in the state in order to meet the present day challenges and to promote a clean and healthy.

    According to reports, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, Mr. Fatai Owoseni on Thursday said that a police station in Nigeria gets N45,000 in three months as running cost.

    Owoseni said this while addressing members of the Human Rights Defenders and Advocacy Centre, a civil society organisation, who protested to his office in Ikeja.
