    Nigeria records $2bn revenue deficit monthly due to falling oil revenue – NECA

    The Nigerian Employers Consultative Association of Nigeria (NECA) has disclosed that falling oil price has resulted in a loss of about $2billion in federal government’s revenue. This is even as the nation’s economy continues to struggles under recession.

    NECA president, Mr Larry Ettah, said the government required about $3billion monthly to function, but its receivable was about $1 billion per month, reflecting a drop of $2 billion.

    Ignore FG’s directive not to sack workers – NECA tells banks

    According to reports, the Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association has said the Federal Government was not in a position to order banks not to disengage staff.

    It said the directive last week by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, to banks to halt further sack of its workers was faulty.

    Ngige gave the directive last week following the sacking of over 1,400 staff by two banks.

    The Nigeria Employers Consultative Association, NECA, has bemoaned the prolonged delay in signing and implementing the 2016 budget, saying that such development gives Nigeria bad image before the comity of nations.
