The Nigerian Army on Friday said that no fewer than 6,022 of its personnel would be captured in a biometric enrolment exercise for the 75 regular recruits intake.
Inaugurating the personnel in Zaria, Kaduna State, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai, said he was aware of the efforts made on the computerization of the functions of the Nigerian Army Finance Corps.

The Chief of Defence Staff, CDS, General Gabriel Olonisakin says the Defence Headquarters has identified lapses that have resulted to failures in the joint operations of the nation’s military in prosecuting the war against Boko Haram terrorists in the North East.

According to reports, the Nigerian Army on Saturday debunked online reports that a fake Army major, Juliana Gumel, was arrested with Improvised Explosive Devices and children.
Some online portals had claimed that Gumel was arrested in Abuja with bombs and children, apparently kidnapped.
However, Nigerian Army spokesman, Col. Sani Usman, said in a statement that though Gumel was arrested in Gwagwalada, Abuja with a fake soldier’s outdated identity card, there were no bombs or children with her.

The Theatre Commander of the counter-insurgency war tagged Operation Lafiya Dole, Major General Lucky Irabor, has disclosed that the Nigerian Army has flagged off another clearance operation in the Sambisa forest tagged “Operation Rescue Finale”.
Irabor stated this to journalists in a news conference in Maiduguri.
