    Bayelsa LGs threaten “no work, no pay” clause against absentee workers

    Chairmen of local government councils in Bayelsa State, weekend threatened to implement “No work, No Pay” clause against workers in their domain following rising cases of absenteeism.

    While many of the local government areas have opened attendance registers to monitor workers in the councils, the chairman of Brass LGA, Hon Bello Bina, has warned that staff of the council, who habitually absent themselves from work would henceforth forfeit their salaries.

    Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State on Wednesday in Ibadan said government would not rescind its decision on the “No Work No Pay’’ rule against striking workers.

    Ajimobi, who made the assertion while monitoring attendance of workers at the State Secretariat, described as satisfactory the level of attendance and compliance with government directive.

    Governor Ajimobi threatens to enforce no work, no pay

    As the strike action embarked upon by workers in Oyo state continues, Governor Abiola Ajimobi has threatened to enforce the no work, no pay rule if they fail to resume work.

    He, however, appealed to labour leaders to call off the strike to give room for dialogue.
