Nigeria has been announced as the African country with the highest number of students studying in the U.S. by the United States government on Tuesday.
This was according to the 2016 Open Doors Report on International Educational Exchange.
The Open Doors report is published annually by the Institute of International Education in partnership with the US Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.

The president of Pan African Paediatric, Surgical Association (PAPSA), Prof. Essam Elhalaby, said Nigeria has over a 100 fully trained paediatric surgeons, making her the second largest in the continent after Egypt.

Three days after some prisoners escaped from prison at Nsukka in Enugu State, authorities of the facility said they had not been able to ascertain the number of inmates involved in the jailbreak.
The Nigerian Prisons Service (NPS) meanwhile said it was trailing the fleeing inmates to their villages and had enlisted the services of local vigilantes to re-arrest them.
