A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered a former Governor of Imo State, Mr. Ikedi Ohakim, to open his defence to debunk the charges of money laundering instituted against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
Justice Adeniyi Ademola made this order in a ruling on Thursday after dismissing the no-case submission filed by the former governor who had claimed that the evidence led by the prosecution to prove its case had disclosed no prima facie case against him.
A former Imo State Governor, Chief Ikedi Ohakim has called on Nigerians to bear with President Muhammadu Buhari.
The former governor, who was guest on Focus Nigeria, an African Independent Television (AIT) breakfast programme, noted that the current government was slow.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has taken the former governors of Imo and Adamawa States, Ikedi Ohakim and Murtala Nyako into custody.
Nyako’s son, Abdulazeez was also arrested by EFCC operatives on Tuesday, July 7, 2015.
