    Militants threaten oil firms over invasion of Tompolo’s community

    Niger Delta militants have vowed to chase away oil companies from the region should the Federal Government order another invasion of Tompolo’s community.

    Operatives of the Joint Task Force code-named, Operation Delta Safe, for the second time in two weeks, had reportedly raided Oporoza, the traditional headquarters of the Gbaramatu people and hometown of a popular militant, Chief Government Ekpemupolo alias Tompolo, on Saturday.

    Niger Delta militants give oil firms seven-day ultimatum to leave region

    Angered by the alleged call by the president of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG), Igwe Achese, asking the Federal Government to engage the service of a security outfit managed by some ex-militants to guard oil facilities in region, the Adaka Boro Avengers yesterday issued a seven-day ultimatum to all multinationals to evacuate the area.

    A militant group, the Niger Delta Greenland Justice Mandate (NDGJM) has warned the military and oil firms of an imminent attack, in what it tagged the “next big statement.”

    FG urges oil firms to recall sacked workers

    The Federal Government has asked oil majors, which recently sacked some of their workers, to recall the affected employees.
