    Delta communities in fear over fresh oil spill

    A fresh oil spill has occurred in twelve communities of Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South West Council Area of Delta State, worsening the already devastated environment and creating panic among residents.

    The spill which was said to be massive was learnt to have occurred last Thursday night from a ruptured trunkline suspected to be operated by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation.

    Ibeno Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State has recorded another major oil spill from Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited, operator of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation/MPN joint Venture offshore.

    FG adopts cleanup tool developed by UNILORIN Professor over Oil spill in Ogoniland

    According to reports, the Federal Government has adopted the use of a local oil spill management product developed by a University of Ilorin Professor of Chemical Engineering, Sulyman Age AbdulKareem, in its renewed efforts to clean up the oil-soaked lands of the Niger Delta.
