According to reports, the Association of Commercial Motorcycle Operators says 20 of its members were killed by thieves in the last six months in Kebbi State.
Malam Nafi’u Zaki, the Chairman of the association, on Thursday in Birnin Kebbi said that the killings were reported in three Local Government Areas.
He said that no fewer than 800 members of the association have abandoned the business for fear of falling victims of bike snatchers.

A fatal road accident has occurred along the Jinja-Iganga highway in Uganda involving a cement truck carrying about 600 bags of cement.

There was confusion on the 7th Avenue in the FESTAC Town area of Lagos on Wednesday after policemen raided commercial motorcycle riders (okada riders) in the area and impounded no fewer than 100 motorcycles.
Adelove learnt that an okada rider was also shot dead in the violence which greeted the raid, while some policemen sustained injuries from bottles and stones hurled at them.
The deceased okada rider was identified as Emmanuel Omofule, said to be from Calabar, Cross River State.
