One person Monday lost his life during a protest by some workers of the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA).
The protesters who were said to be members of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) were demanding the sack of the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Adebiyi Daramola, who was alleged of financial impropriety.

It was gathered that the governorship candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Dr. Oluwadare Bada, has withdrawn from tomorrow’s governorship election in Ondo State.

Police deploy 26,000 personnel, 3 copters, 20 gunboats, 12 APCs for Ondo State governorship election
According to reports, the Nigeria Police Force said that it would deploy 26,000 personnel, three helicopters, 12 Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) and 20 gunboats for the Nov.26 governorship election in Ondo State.
The Inspector-General of Police (IG), Mr Ibrahim Idris, said this on Tuesday in Akure during a meeting he held with INEC officials and representatives of the political parties in the state.

Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, on Tuesday accused his predecessor, Chief Lucky Igbinedion, of collecting N5billion for the dualisation of the Okada road which was never executed.
The governor said the new 8.5km Uhen-Olumoye road also in Ovia North East local government area of the state was a testimony to what a focus government can do.
