    EFCC closes former HoS Oronsaye’s N190m fraud case

    Hearing on a case of abuse of office and fraud brought against Stephen Oronsaye, a former Head of Service, HoS, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, continued on Tuesday with the prosecution presenting its sixth witness, PW6, Hamad Bello, for cross-examination.

    Oronsaye, who was also the chairman of Presidential Committee on Financial Action Task Force, PCFATF, is facing a 2-count charge before Justice Olasumbo O. Goodluck of the Federal Capital Territory High Court sitting in Maitama, Abuja.

    Court admits Oronsaye’s statements to EFCC

    An FCT High Court on Wednesday admitted in evidence the statements made by Steve Oronsaye, a former Head of Service of the Federation, to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

    Oronsaye was alleged to have deposited money meant for the Presidential Committee on Financial Action Task Force, which he chaired, into a fixed bond in Access bank known only to him.

    Court grants Oronsaye leave for medical check-up abroad

    Justice Gabriel Kolawole of the Abuja Division of the Federal High Court on Tuesday granted former Head of Service (HoS), Stephen Oronsaye, who is currently facing fraud and money laundering charges, leave to travel abroad for routine medical check-up as well as the treatment of an undisclosed ailment.

    Justice Kolawole gave the permission while ruling on an application brought by Oronsaye’s counsel, Kola Okeaya-Inneh, SAN, which sought the release of his international passport to enable him travel abroad for medical attention.
