    Power outage was caused by system collapse – EKEDC

    It was gathered that the management of Eko Electricity Company (EKEDC) on Friday said that power outage currently being experienced by its customers on Victoria Island and Lekki was caused by system collapse from the national grid.

    Mr Godwin Idemudia, the General Manager of the company, said this in a statement made available to newsmen in Lagos.

    Idemudia said that the outages were also affecting Ikoyi, Festac town, Mushin, Surulere and environs.

    Eko DISCO apologies to Lagos residents over power outage

    It was gathered that the management of Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) on Sunday apologised to its consumers in Victoria Island, Ikoyi, Lekki, and Oniru areas of Lagos over power outage.

    Mr Godwin Idemudia, the General Manager, Corporate Communications of the company, spoke in a statement in Lagos.

    According to him, the outage was due to the damage done to the 33KVA underground cable by the contractors handling the Lagos State Government beautification project along Kingsway Road, Ikoyi.

    Another power outage paralyses activities at MMIA

    Another power outage last night paralysed activities at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos.

    Hundreds of passengers on international destination were still checking in when the power went off and disrupted activities. While blackout lasted, angry passengers started calling for candles.
