The Rivers State Police Command has said from its initial findings, popular human rights activist and lawyer to the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ken Atsuete, was killed when he went to pick his neighbour who had escaped from suspected kidnappers.

The police have decried public comments linking President Muhammadu Buhari with the ordeal of 40-year old trader, Joe Chinakwe, who named his dog “Buhari” in Ogun State, stating that the President does not warrant the series of uncomplimentary remarks targeted at him over the matter.
The trader was recently arrested and arraigned in court for allegedly naming his dog “Buhari”, but has since been granted bail. Some members of the public have however associated the president with the case.
