Kaduna State governor, Malam Nasir el-Rufai, has granted state pardon to three convicted prisoners in the state.
The compassion extended to the convicts was part of 2016 Independence Day anniversary.
The convicts have been granted amnesty and subsequently released.

Nine convicts, three of them on death row, have been granted freedom by the Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike.
Six others, who benefitted from the power of prerogative of mercy of the governor, were serving life imprisonment for various offences.
A statement signed by the State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Emmanuel Aguma, SAN, indicated that the governor’s decision to grant the convicts freedom was based on the advice of the State Advisory Committee on the Prerogative of Mercy.
