    A melodrama occurred at the King Square in Benin City when suspected thugs clashed with members of the Civil Society Organisation, leaving not less than 12 persons severely injured and 2 vehicles destroyed.

    According to report, the Civil Liberties Organisation, Bayelsa State, has protested the alleged invasion and destruction of Sand-Sand community in Nembe Local Government Area of Bayelsa State by troops of the Operation Delta Safe.

    Nigeria Labour Congress and Trade Union Congress are planning a mass rally on Wednesday in the Ogun State capital, Abeokuta, over Governor Ibikunle Amosun’s sacking of 35 labour leaders in the state.

    The notice, which was issued by the state NLC Chairman, Comrade, Akeem Ambali, on Tuesday said the rally would hold at the state secretariat of the congress at 9a.m. It will be adderessed by the presidents of NLC, TUC and Joint Negotiating Council.

    Oyo shuts five schools over protests on promotion policy

    According to reports, the Oyo State Government on Thursday shut five schools indefinitely over the protests on cancellation of automatic promotion in public schools.

    Prof. Adeniyi Olowofela, the State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, announced this at a news conference in Ibadan.

    Three of the five schools are located in Oyo East and Atiba Local Government Areas, while the remaining two are in Akinyele.
