    Lagos govt, Japanese firm partner on $1 billion rail project

    The Lagos State Government, In conjunction with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has unveiled the Lagos Urban Railway Development project which is aimed at paving the way for a new transportation system to be called the Automated Guide Transit (AGT) – a type of monorail.

    The Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi, on Tuesday admitted that the Abuja-Kaduna rail project was partially executed by the Goodluck Jonathan administration, but added that the President Buhari’s government was responsible for executing the final stages that were crucial to the project’s completion.

    FG to inaugurate Abuja-Kaduna rail project July 26

    Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, the Minister of Transportation said on Monday that the Abuja-Kaduna rail project would be inaugurated on July 26 in Idu, Abuja.

    Amaechi made this known this in an interview with newsmen in Abuja. He said free test-run service started in June while awaiting the approval of President Muhammadu Buhari.
