    It was gathered that the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, has said the state would in January 2017 host an art exhibition in honour of a former Minister of National Planning, Chief Rasheed Gbadamosi, who died on November 16 at the age of 72.

    Ambode disclosed this on Thursday at a reception hosted by the Lagos State Government in honour of the late Gbadamosi, who was, among other things, an industrialist and an art enthusiast.

    A Former Governor of Ogun State, Olusegun Osoba, and a former senator, Musiliu Obanikoro, were among dignitaries who paid tribute to the former Minister of National Planning, Rasheed Gbadamosi, on Thursday.

    The dignitaries were among family members, friends, and sympathisers who participated at the funeral rites of the late playwright at his residence in Ikorodu, Lagos State.

    Former Minister Rasheed Gbadamosi dies at 73

    A former Minister of National Planning, Rasheed Gbadamosi, is dead.

    Mr. Gbadamosi, 73, died on Wednesday evening in his Ikorodu, Lagos residence, according to news monitored on the Nigeria Television Authority.

    The cause of his death was not disclosed.

    Mr. Gbadamosi, a businessman, had in April suffered stroke and was flown abroad for medical attention.

    The deceased, a playwright and economist, served as the Commissioner for Establishment and Economic Development in Lagos State.

    According to reports, a former minister for National Planning owns two expensive and luxurious penthouses in Panama, according to documents from the leaked Mossack Fonseca database.
