According to reports, the Ali Modu Sheriff-led faction of the PDP says it is ready to reconcile with the Ahmed Markafi-led faction.
Prof. Wale Oladipo, National Secretary of the Sheriff faction of the party, made the disclosure while addressing newsmen on Thursday in Abuja.
Oladipo said some eminent Nigerians, some of whom were apolitical, had been meeting with the feuding parties with a view to resolving the lingering crisis.

According to reports, the President, Igbo Youth Congress, Bright Ezeocha, on Saturday urged the Federal Government to constitute a National Reconciliation Committee to facilitate national unity for the progress and development of the nation.

Reconciliation in the lingering leadership crisis in the Peoples Democratic Party started on Tuesday as leaders of the two factions of the party met and agreed to reunite.
Information about the move was revealed in a joint press conference held by Senator Ben Obi, the Secretary of the PDP National Caretaker Committee, and Dr. Cairo Ojougboh, the Deputy National Chairman of Senator Ali Modu Sheriff-led faction, in Abuja.
Ojougboh, who read the press statement, said Makarfi and Sheriff met on Tuesday morning.
