According to reports, the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, on Friday disclosed that the federal government has created a register for all recovered assets stolen by corrupt officials, explaining that the move was to prevent “re-looting” of what was being recovered.

It was gathered that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, says all looted funds recovered by it are paid into the consolidated revenue account of the Federal Government.
The commission made this known on its Twitter handle, @officialefcc in response to a question from one of its followers.

The Citizens Advocacy for Social and Economic Rights (CASER) has faulted the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC’s) recent request for powers to retain a percentage of money recovered by it.

According to reports, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has urged a review of Nigerian laws to enable anti-graft agencies in the country retain a percentage of the loot recovered to fund their operations.
The Acting Chairman of the commission, Mr Ibrahim Magu, made the request at the national anti-corruption conference organised by the Presidential Advisory Committee against Corruption (PACAC) and the National Assembly in Abuja.

According to reports, the Nigeria Police Force Complaint Response Unit said it has recovered N2.7 million bribe money from an Assistant Commissioner of Police (name withheld) serving in one of the state commands.
