President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday reiterated his administration’s stance to adhere to the rule of law in the fight against corruption.
In a statement by the President’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, Buhari said the government had not mistreated those standing corruption trials in any ways, adding that the administration would continue to ensure justice and fairness to all.

Abdulmumin Jibrin, former chairman of the house of representatives appropriations committee, says he “cries for Nigeria” because of the culture of respecting corrupt people, which is to the detriment of the country.
In a statement on Thursday, Jibrin, who explained how the committee was used for fraud in padding of the 2016 budget, said it was a diversionary plan by Yakubu Dogara, the speaker, to say that the budget s “law and therefore no offence can be committed in that regard”.
President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday urged senior military officers to respect rule of law and human rights in the service to the nation.
The President made the call at the graduation of Senior Course 38 at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College Jaji, Kaduna.
According to him, the military must uphold highest standard of conduct vis-a-vis character, integrity, excellence, service and team work expected of military professionals.
Buhari said: “You must therefore carry along these values and virtues wherever you find yourself.”
The acting Inspector General of Police, IGP, Ibrahim Idris, has said that the Nigeria Police Force will be guided by the international core values of policing with integrity, and rule of law.
The acting IGP, who stated this while at the Force headquarters in Abuja, at the handover ceremony between himself and the former IGP, Solomon Arase, also pledged to ensure that the Nigeria police, under his leadership, operate within the principles of democratic policing, with focus on integrity and accountability.
