It was gathered that the Minister of Transportation, Hon. Rotimi Amaechi, has been accused of attempts to stop the resumption of schools in Rivers State.
The allegation was levelled against Amaechi, a former Governor of Rivers State, by the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in the State, Bro Felix Obuah.

The FirstNation Airways has postponed resumption of its flight operations, earlier scheduled for Sept. 15, by a few days.

First Nation Airways on Tuesday reassured its passengers that the airline would resume flight operations on September 15.
The Airline’s Director of Flight Operations, Capt. Chimara Imediegwu, made this known at a news conference in Lagos.

The authorities of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, have asked students of the institution to resume next Wednesday.
The Public Relations Officer of the institution, Mr Biodun Olarewaju, confirmed this in a press statement on Thursday.

Authorities of the University of Port Harcourt have withdrawn their earlier announcement that the institution will re-open for academic activities on Monday, May, 23 2016.
Deputy Registrar in charge of Public Affairs, William Wodi said the earlier announced Monday 23rd May resumption date was a proposal that had not been approved by the university’s Senate body.
Wodi said the University’s Senate was expected during its 421 extraordinary meeting, to consider the proposed revised academic calendar for the 2015/2016 session of the institution.
