    President Muhammadu Buhari has given a standing order to the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development to ensure that no government official and members of the National Assembly embark on a jamboree trip to Brazil for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games on the account of the government.

    Minister targets 10 medals in Rio, needs N2b for participation

    The Federal Government says it is targeting at least five medals from Team Nigeria at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, which starts next month in Brazil.

    Minister of Youth and Sports, Solomon Dalung, gave the hint at a press briefing at the Abuja National Stadium yesterday.

    The House of Representatives on Wednesday asked the Ministry of Finance to immediately release funds to the sports ministry so that it could mobilise Nigeria’s contingent to the forthcoming Rio Olympics.
