The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Wednesday presented the Governor-elect, Mr. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN his certificate of return.
Akeredolu was accompanied to the event which was held at the INEC headquarters in Akure, the state capital by his wife, Betty.

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has said the emergence of Rotimi Akeredolu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, as the governor – elect of Ondo State is an indication that people still love the party.

The Ondo State governor-elect Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN) on Sunday delivered his acceptance speech in his Owo home after the Independent National Electoral Commission declared him the winner of the Saturday’s governorship election in the state.
The All Progressives Congress candidate, Akeredolu, polled a total number of 244, 842 votes to beat runners up, Eyitayo Jegede (SAN) of the Peoples Democratic Party, who had 146,784. The Alliance for Democracy candidate, Chief Olusola Oke came third with 107,124 votes.

The All Progressives Alliance (APC), candidate in yesterdays gubernatorial elections in Ondo state, Rotimi Akeredolu has been declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
Akeredolu according to the result announced by the Chief Returning Officer, Prof. A. Ambali, won the election with 244,842 votes to defeat his closest rival, Eyitayo Jegede of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) who polled 150,380 votes.

ACCREDITED VOTERS: 584, 997
Chief Olusola Oke of the Alliance for Democracy, ( AD) had 126,889 votes.
The former candidate of PDP in Ondo State, Mr. Jimoh Ibrahim, has congratulated Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu who is awaiting his declaration as winner of the polls.

The primary, which was held at International Event Centre, Dome was contested by 20 aspirants after four others aspirants withdrawn from the race and backed Mr. Segun Abraham.
