    Cattle rustlers storm Niger, kill 6, steal 700 cows

    Six persons were killed in an attack by suspected cattle rustlers in Kukoki community of Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State.

    The Council’s Chairman, Mark Jagaba, told the News Agency of Nigeria on Wednesday in Minna that the attack lasted for about four hours.

    About 19,000 that were stolen from herdsmen in various parts of the state have been recovered by security operatives while suspected rustlers were also arrested.

    Two persons are now in the police detention, for allegedly stealing five cows in Ifaki Ekiti, Ido/Osi Local Government Area of Ekiti State.

    The suspects, according to the Commander of Vigilante Group of Nigeria, (VON), Mr Akin Olorunloni, were apprehended along Ifaki-Iworoko road around 3.30 am on Tuesday.

    Suspected cattle rustlers kill five in Niger

    Fully-armed suspected cattle rustlers on Monday killed five persons in Gbada community in Kaure, Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State.

    It was learnt that the attack was carried out at about 3a.m and that several villagers were also injured while others are still missing.
