    We didn’t shut down, sack workers – Innoson

    Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company Limited (IVM), one of Nigeria’s auto manufacturing outfits, has said it was still producing vehicles with full complement of its workers, and had not shut its plant in Nnewi, as reported recently in various sections of the media.

    Ignore FG’s directive not to sack workers – NECA tells banks

    According to reports, the Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association has said the Federal Government was not in a position to order banks not to disengage staff.

    It said the directive last week by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, to banks to halt further sack of its workers was faulty.

    The Nigeria Labour Congress has criticised former Senior Special Adviser to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan on Public Affairs, Dr. Doyin Okupe, for advising governors who had difficulties in paying workers salaries to retrench civil servants in their states.
