    Freelance journalist, Ahmad Salkida, has revealed that several attempts made by him to free the abducted Chibok girls from captivity had been frustrated by the federal government.

    A Nigerian journalist declared wanted by the authorities for alleged links to Boko Haram has been released from custody, the BBC reported him as saying on Wednesday.

    The Department of State Services has arrested Ahmed Salkida, a journalist, who was declared wanted by the Nigerian Army last month.

    It was learnt that Salkida was arrested at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on Monday afternoon shortly after his flight landed.

    The Nigerian Army on Sunday identified three persons – Ahmed Salkida, a journalist, Aisha Wakili and Ahmed U. Bolori – as those that can provide information that will lead to the rescue of the abducted Chibok girls.

    The Army subsequently declared the three individuals wanted in a statement signed by Sani Usman, its Acting Director of Information.

    Nigerian Army declares Salkida, 2 others wanted over latest Boko Haram video

    The Nigerian Army has declared three persons wanted in connection with the latest video of the abducted Chibok girls released by Boko Haram on Sunday.

    Spokesman for the Army, Colonel Sani Usman, said that the suspects, Ahmed Salkida, (Ambassador) Ahmed U. Bolori and Aisha Wakil, had information on the conditions and the exact location of these girls.

    They were abducted on April 14, 2014 from their school’s dormitory in Chibok, while they were preparing for their Secondary School Certificate examinations.
