    We’ve seized over 1000 diplomatic passports from former public officers – NIS CG

    According to reports, the Comptroller General (CG), of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Muhammad Babandede, on Saturday disclosed that no fewer than a thousand diplomatic passports have been intercepted and seized from former political office holders who failed to handover their passport upon leaving office.

    It was gathered that the House of Representatives Committee on Public Petition has summoned the Nigerian Navy to appear before it, over allegations that s its officers vandalised arrested vessels.‎

    Return N500m seized from Igbinedion – Edo tells EFCC

    Edo State has asked the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to return N500million and property seized from convicted former Governor Lucky Igbinedion to it.

    This request is contained in a November 7 letter to the EFCC through the state government’s lawyer Mr Femi Falana (SAN).

    Igbinedion was arraigned in 2008 along with his company Kiva Corporation Limited on sundry allegations of defrauding the state government.

    It was gathered that the Comptroller-General of Customs, retired Colonel Hameed Ali, says the service would auction seized vehicles belonging to Imo State Government, brought into Nigeria without payment of customs duty.
