House of Representatives, Speaker Yakubu Dogara, on Wednesday said the invasion of the homes of senior judicial officers by the Department of State Services was a disorganised and worrisome act.
Dogara said the clampdown was a duplication of the function of other anti-corruption agencies such as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and promised sweeping reforms to prevent its recurrence.

Twenty nine constituents from Kiru/Bebeji Federal Constituency in Kano state have dragged the Speaker, House of Representatives, Mr. Yakubu Dogara, to court over suspension of their member, Alhaji Abdulmumin Jibrin Kofa.
Addressing a press conference in Kano on Friday at NUJ secretariat, Counsel to the plaintiff’s, Mr. Bashir Muqaddam, said the court had fixed December 20, 2016 for mentioning.

The Speaker of the Ekiti House of Assembly, Kola Oluwawole, said on Friday that members passed the bill controlling cattle grazing in order to safeguard the lives and property of the residents.

Following the long leadership crisis which roked the Kogi State House of Assembly, the Speaker Momoh Jimoh his resignation while Hon. Umarf Imam was appointed as his replacement.
It will be recalled that the House has been in the lingering crisis that erupted early in February this year which resulted to two factions – the Momoh Jimoh Lawal and the Umar Ahmed Imam.
Trouble started after some members of the house impeached Mr Jimoh in February, resulting to G5 and G10 factions.
