    SSANU set for shut down FUNNAB over sack of 23 members

    According to reports, the National leadership of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) is set for a show down with the management of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ogun State, over the sack of 23 of its members.

    The union claimed its members were sacked for exposing alleged corrupt practices by the Vice Chancellor and management of the institution.

    SSANU urges Buhari to reinstate sacked FUNAAB lecturers

    Following the sack of 23 lecturers of the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta, (FUNAAB), the national leadership of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), has called on the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration, to reverse the sack of the university teachers.

    It will be recalled that the sacked staff were members of the association whose appointments were terminated last week by the university vice-chancellor, Professor Olusola Oyewole, and the Governing Council.

    SSANU shuts FUNAAB maingate, wants VC removed

    Members of the Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities (SSANU) at the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta (FUNAAB) have called for the removal of the institution’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Bamidele Oyewole, over alleged high-handedness and financial misappropriation.

    The SSANU members also locked the main gate leading to the institution to prevent movement into and out of the school to press home their demands.

    SSANU unhappy with funding of education

    The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, (SSANU) has decried what it termed deliberate underfunding of the education sector by the government, saying the allocation of N403 billion to the sector in the 2016 Budget was grossly inadequate.

    The Association, in a communiqué at the end of its National Executive Council Meeting, urged President Muhammadu Buhari to immediately send a supplementary budget to the National Assembly to take care of the short fall in the budgetary allocation to the sector.
