It was gathered that the Nigeria Police said 1,120 vehicles recovered from robbers are awaiting repossession by their owners in police stations across Lagos and Ogun states.
The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 2 Command, Abdulmajid Ali, disclosed this on Thursday while appraising the activities of the command he took over six weeks ago.
He advised members of the public who have lost their vehicles to robbers to check the recovered ones at police formations across the two states.

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 42-year-old Islamic cleric, Rasheed Ayuba, for alleged car theft.
Ayuba, who hails from Igbesa, Ogun State, was apprehended alongside a transporter in Ibadan, Oyo State, Falade Igbekele, who reportedly bought six of the stolen cars.
Items recovered from Ayuba, who also teaches at an Arabic school in Ishasi, Lagos, include a bunch of master keys and about 13 other car keys, as well as charms, Punch reports.
