    Court strikes out Obla’s N1bn suit against EFCC

    A Federal High Court in Lagos on Friday struck out a N1bn fundamental rights enforcement suit filed by a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Chief Godwin Obla, against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

    Obla, who was detained by the EFCC for allegedly offering a N5m gratification to Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia of the Federal High Court, had filed the suit urging the court to declare that his detention beyond 24 hours by the EFCC was unlawful.

    Justice Nathaniel Ayo-Emmanuel of the Federal High Court in Ibadan, on Friday, struck out the bail application filed by Adeola Olaniran, the second accused in the N8 billion CBN currency scam trial.
