    Governor Okorocha swears-in new commissioner, adviser, perm-secs

    According to reports, the Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has sworn-in a new commissioner for information, Engr. Obinna Nshirim, and a Special Adviser on Security, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Mr. Hillary Opara, (Rtd).

    According to reports,  the Senate on Tuesday swore-in the only All Progressives Congress (APC) Senator in the South-East zone, Hon. Ben Uwajumogu, representing Okigwe (Imo North) senatorial district of Imo State.

    Uwajumogu was declared winner of the July rerun election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) having defeated his closest challenger, Chief Athan Achonu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), whose election was nullified on the ground of logo omission on the ballot papers.

    Dr Justin Okonoboh (APC-Igueben) was on Monday sworn-in as Speaker of the Edo House of Assembly after the former speaker, Mrs Elizabeth Ativie(APC- Uhunwonde), relinquished the office.
